Kantipur Dental College and Hospital, Basundhara, organized two days free dental checkup and awareness camp at EURO School, Hattigaunda on March 6th and 7th respectively. The Dr. Alka Gupta(MDS,Orthodontics)led team of Dental surgeon and students, who carried out comprehensive dental checkup of students from grade 1-10.Total of 514 students.
The camp was initiated with dental awareness talk, educating students about common dental ailments, especially stressing on tooth decay and measures to prevent them. The students were highlighted about the eating patterns and food choices which cause tooth decay. Knowledge about tooth malalignment, causes and treatment modalities and tooth brushing technique were also given.
36 student were screened to have mobile tooth, 224 with decayed and 135 were screened to have required correction for mal-alignment (i.e orthodontic treatment).
The students got ample opportunities to interact with the dental surgeons to enquire and gain knowledge concerning oral diseases. On completion of the dental checkup each student was given a Patient Card, a report summary of the diagnosed problem and the recommended dental treatment plan.
The Principal of EURO School, Hattigaunda thanked the dental surgeons, for rendering moral and selfless service to the school. The above dental checkup and awareness camp is one of the many free social events organized by the Kantipur Dental College and Hospital, Basundhara.
