A blood donation camp was organized by the Kantipur Dental and General Hospital, Basundhara on 14th June 2016 on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day 2016. Blood scarcity is one of the major causes of death in many cases in a developing country like Nepal. Many social and economic reasons are behind the reason for people not understanding the value of blood donation still in our society. Non Availability of blood in time is the major problem in the immediate health support of people in Nepal. Recognizing this fact Kantipur Dental College and General Hospital is organizing such a valuable and important drive to not only contribute in solving this crisis but also educate people in the nobility of donating blood and saving lives. The motto of this yearтАЩs programme is one selected by the WHO saying тАЬBlood Connects Us AllтАЭ . Kantipur Dental College and General Hospital is one of a leading hospitals in Kathmandu having hundred beds with latest technologies catering to the peopleтАЩs health.
This programme saw over 60 people donating blood in the camp organized in the hospital premises. The programme was aptly supported by the Nepal Red Cross Society, Rotaract Club of Kantipur Dental College , and Lions Club of KTM, Machhapokhari and Asha who volunteered to collect the blood for future use. Large participation were seen from students and staffs of Kantipur Dental College and General Hospital .
