Rotary club of Kathmandu North ,district 3292 and kantipur Dental College and Hospital organized three days free health camp at Gerkhutar, Nuwakot from 16th to 18th April 2017 which was supported by Rotary club of Matthews district7680 NC, USA. The coorganizers were om Mane public school and suryodaya samajik club.
A team of 11 health professional from kantipur dental college and hospital and volunteers from Rotary club of Matthews that included two dental specialist participated in the health camp. The camp had Dental services that included oral screening, oral hygiene instructions, Tooth Extraction,scaling, Restorations , Hand washing program .
In the general services there were stations for general check up, gynaecological consultation, orthopedic consultation and pediatric consultation. There was a Provision of free medicine distribution as per the prescription.
About 400 people were benefitted from the camp where almost everybody had dental problems. Dental caries and gingivitis were the most common problem in the dental side where in the general health most had skin diseases and orthopedic related problems. More than 200 people received dental treatment in the camp field itself at the mobile dental unit station.
A huge participation from local people made the camp a great success.
