On 11th September 2024, Kantipur Dental College Teaching Hospital & Research Center (KDCH), Nepal, and GSL Dental College, Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, India, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a long-term academic and clinical partnership. This strategic collaboration is designed to enhance dental education, research, and clinical practices, with a special focus on head and neck oncology. The MoU includes plans for faculty and student exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and workshops and training sessions aimed at advancing knowledge and expertise in modern dental technologies and treatment protocols.

As part of this international collaboration, both institutions are planning to host a joint Head and Neck Oncology Conference in Kathmandu in 2025, bringing together leading experts from Nepal, India, and the broader South Asian region. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Buddhi Man Shrestha, Chairman of KDCH, Prof. Dr. Rabindra Man Shrestha, Principal of KDCH, and senior representatives from GSL Educational Society, including Dr. Govinda Rajkumar, Dr. G. Sandeep, and Dr. G. Tarun. Their presence emphasized the shared commitment to strengthening international academic ties and improving specialized dental care services.

This collaboration highlights KDCH’s ongoing dedication to providing high-quality dental education and specialized oral healthcare in Nepal while promoting global partnerships in dentistry. By fostering international exposure, knowledge exchange, and research collaboration, the MoU will enhance KDCH’s mission of developing globally competent dental professionals and advancing oral health care and head and neck oncology treatment standards in Nepal.
