The 3rd International Head & Neck Oncology with Esthetics Conference (IHNOEC-2025), held on April 4–5, 2025, at the Radisson Hotel, Kathmandu, marked a significant advancement in Nepal's medical landscape. Organized by Kantipur Dental College Teaching Hospital & Research Center (KDCH) in collaboration with KDC General Hospital, KDC Aesthetic Center, and GSL Educational Institutes from Andhra Pradesh, India, the conference addressed the rising incidence of head and neck cancers and explored advancements in esthetic rehabilitation.

The event brought together over 250 professionals from Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, and other countries, including oncologists, onco-surgeons, ENT specialists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, cranio-maxillofacial surgeons, oral pathologists, radiologists, plastic surgeons, intervention radiologists, and dermatologists. The conference emphasized the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in treating head and neck cancers, integrating medical, surgical, and esthetic disciplines to improve patient outcomes.

Prior to the main conference, a specialized Pre-Conference Course was conducted on April 3, 2025, at Kantipur Dental College. This course featured two intensive sessions:

  • Facial Esthetics through Fillers and Botox
    Led by Dr. Madhu Bhatia, an esteemed Aesthetic Physician and Clinical Dermatologist from London and Wales, this session provided participants with hands-on experience in administering dermal fillers and Botox. Attendees learned about facial anatomy, patient assessment, injection techniques, and safety protocols, enhancing their skills in non-surgical facial rejuvenation.
  • Rhinoplasty under Local Anesthesia
    Conducted by Dr. Kishore Babu Pentyala, a renowned facial cosmetic surgeon, this session focused on performing rhinoplasty procedures under local anesthesia. Dr. Pentyala shared insights into surgical planning, patient selection, and post-operative care, emphasizing techniques that minimize discomfort and promote optimal esthetic outcomes.
    The Pre-Conference Course was met with enthusiasm and active participation, setting a high standard for the subsequent conference sessions.

The main conference featured expert lectures, scientific presentations, and workshops covering various aspects of head and neck oncology and esthetic rehabilitation:

  • Keynote Lectures: Experts discussed topics ranging from oral cancer prevention to innovations in facial reconstruction.
  • Scientific Presentations: Over 37 papers and posters were presented, covering areas such as surgical oncology, prosthetic rehabilitation, and psychosocial aspects of cancer care.
  • Workshops: Interactive sessions provided practical training in advanced surgical techniques and esthetic procedures.
    he conference emphasized the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in treating head and neck cancers, integrating medical, surgical, and esthetic disciplines to improve patient outcomes.

The combined Pre-Conference and Conference program achieved several significant outcomes:

  • Enhanced Clinical Skills: Participants gained advanced knowledge and practical experience in facial esthetics, rhinoplasty, and head and neck oncology.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: The event facilitated collaboration among professionals from diverse specialties, promoting integrated patient care.
